The Deparment of Genetics & Plant Breeding is dedicated to the science of crop improvement. Starting in 2024-25, this deparment will equip students with the knowledge of heredity and variation to develop superior crop varieties.The focus will be on breeding crops for higher yields, biotic and abiotic stress resistance, and improved nutritional quality using both conventional breeding methods and modern biotechnological tools. Deparment of Genetics and Plant Breeding offers 20 seats for postgraduate aspirants.
